Alan Shearer
APRIL 15, 2021
Alan Shearer one of the greatest English Premier League strikers. Shearer is the EPL record goalscorer with 260 goals in 441 appearances. Mister Wayne Rooney is the next closes with 206 goals, and only two active players who have a chance of catching up to Shearer's record would be Aguero (180 goals), and Kane (162 goals).
Shearer started his career at Southhampton and you can find his first year card in the 1990-1991 Pro Set card. He would later bounce around to Blackburn where he would win an EPL title while leading the EPL with 34 goals in that season. I guess you can say the 1993 Upper Deck World Cup Preview is his first World Cup card even though England didn't qualify that year. Then we have his first international tournament 1996 Euro sticker, where England would finish third.
Fun fact, since the EPL started, there have been only seven different teams to win the trophy, Manchester United (13), Blackburn (1), Arsenal (3), Chelsea (4), Manchester City (4), Leicester City (1), and Liverpool (1).
