Hugo Sánchez
June 03, 2021
Hugo Sanchez is regarded as one of the best Mexican players that have played. He is in the top five most goals scored in La Liga with 234 in 347 appearances. He would end up playing for both Madrid teams, Atletico and Real. He found his most success with Real winning the La Liga trophy five times in a row, Copa Del Rey, and a Europa trophy. On the international stage, he wasn't as successful as his club career winning gold in the 1975 Pan American Games and winning the 1977 Gold Cup. Still
Hugo Sanchez has plenty of first/second-year cards. The first card on the list is a 1977 Sportscaster card. Don't have much info on this card, if anyone has any idea let us know. I'd say his most popular cards/stickers would be his 1978 World Cup cards/stickers. He has a bunch from this year, we have the Panini sticker, Monty Gum, Bergmann, and a brand called Americana Argentina all got their hands in the pie. If you want one of his first stickers in an Atletico kit it'll be the 1983-84 Panini sticker, and his 1986-87 Panini sticker would be his first in a Real kit. A couple of sticker autos you can pick up would be his first Prizm in the 2014 World Cup set and then the 2016 National Treasure with his fellow Mexican teammate Jorge Campos. He has some on-card autos in the 2015 Flawless set and the 2018 Eminencies if that's more of your cup of tea.
